THE JOY OF THE REDEEMED: DAVID DANCING
"And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness...only the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." (Isaiah 35:8-10)
"David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the LORD with all his might, while he and the entire house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets." (2 Samuel 6:14-15)
It is the greatest joy to know God, to be loved by Him and to experience all His goodness in my life! Sometimes when that joy just can't be contained, it comes out through dancing. I wanted to do a drawing about this, and I thought who would be better than King David, who danced before the Lord with all his might (See 2 Samuel 6:12-23)?
One of my favourite songs is Martin Smith's "The Happy Song" (1994 Curious Music? U.K./PRS/Admin. by EMI Christian Music Publishing). I praised the Lord again and again to this song the whole time I drew these pictures.
